Router compromise via oversized WizardHandle PPW
Published May 10, 2024 · Updated Feb 13, 2025
Stack-based buffer overflow in Tenda FH1206 1.2.0.8(8155)_EN allows remote attackers to corrupt memory via a crafted PPW value. The WizardHandle request handler accepts an oversized PPW parameter without enforcing the destination stack buffer's capacity. No authentication or user interaction is required; successful exploitation can crash the management service or execute code on the router.
