CVE-2024-34914Network attack vector

Account access via predictable remember-key generation

Published May 14, 2024 · Updated Feb 13, 2025

Weak remember-key generation in PHP Censor before 2.0.13 and 2.1.0 through 2.1.4 allows remote attackers to access remembered accounts. SessionController::login hashes the predictable current microsecond timestamp with MD5 and accepts the resulting cookie as sufficient authentication. Exploitation requires persistent login to be enabled for an account; successful guessing grants that account's access without its password.
