Unauthenticated notice dismissal via missing capability check
Published Jun 11, 2024 · Updated Apr 28, 2026
Missing authorization in Tammersoft Contact List 2.9.87 and earlier allows remote attackers to dismiss administrative notices. The process_notifications() function accepts notice-dismissal requests without checking the caller’s WordPress capability, then records the notice as dismissed. No account or user interaction is required; the demonstrated consequence is limited to changing the plugin’s administrative-notice state.
