Counter deletion via missing bulk-action nonce
Published May 2, 2024 · Updated Aug 1, 2024
CSRF in Counter Box before 1.2.4 allows remote attackers to delete counters by inducing a logged-in administrator to submit a forged request. The counter-box administration page accepts POSTed ID and delete-items bulk-action values and executes deletion without validating a nonce. Exploitation requires an administrator with an active WordPress session to open attacker-controlled HTML, resulting in deletion of the selected counter.
