Effect deletion via nonce-free bulk action
Published May 2, 2024 · Updated Mar 25, 2025
Cross-site request forgery in Wow-Company Herd Effects before 5.2.7 allows remote attackers to delete effects through an administrator's session. The wp-admin handler for page=mwp-herd-effect accepts a POST containing an effect ID and delete-items bulk actions without validating a CSRF nonce. Exploitation requires a logged-in administrator to open attacker-controlled HTML, which submits the forged request and removes the selected effect.
