Popup deletion via missing nonce verification
Published May 2, 2024 · Updated Mar 25, 2025
Cross-site request forgery in Wow-Company Popup Box before 2.2.7 allows remote attackers to delete popups via a forged request. The bulk-action handler at wp-admin/admin.php?page=popup-box accepts a popup ID and delete-items actions without verifying a request nonce. Exploitation requires a logged-in administrator to open attacker-controlled HTML, after which the browser submits the deletion request with the administrator's session.
