CVE-2024-34747

Kernel privilege escalation via driver use-after-free

Published Nov 13, 2024 · Updated Nov 15, 2024

A use-after-free in the PowerVR GPU driver on Android SoC devices allows local users to escalate privileges in the kernel. DevmemXIntMapPages in devicemem_server.c uses memory after it is freed because of a logic error whose specific control flow is not public. A local user needs no additional execution privileges or user interaction to obtain kernel privileges.
