Kernel privilege escalation via dangling GPU mappings
Published Jan 28, 2025 · Updated Jan 28, 2025
Integer overflow in Android SoC PowerVR-GPU drivers allows local users to execute arbitrary code with kernel privileges. DevmemXIntMapPages and DevmemXIntUnmapPages perform wrapping arithmetic on crafted GPU mapping operations, leaving dangling GPU page-table entries. Unprivileged software can issue the calls without user interaction, then read or write freed physical memory from the GPU.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
