CVE-2024-34696Network attack vector

Process-secret disclosure via unfiltered status output

Published Jul 1, 2024 · Updated Aug 2, 2024

Information disclosure in GeoServer 2.10.0 through 2.24.3 and 2.25.0 allows remote authenticated users to read process secrets. The /geoserver/rest/about/status handler includes every environment variable and Java system property in its status output without filtering secret-bearing entries. The endpoint requires an administrator session; disclosure is limited to values present in the GeoServer process, including database passwords and API keys.
