CVE-2024-34682

Stored Wi-Fi password disclosure via missing authorization

Published Nov 6, 2024 · Updated Nov 6, 2024

Improper authorization in Samsung Mobile Devices running Android 14 allows physical attackers to read a stored Wi-Fi password in Maintenance Mode. The Settings component exposes the saved network credential from the separate Maintenance Mode account without enforcing the authorization boundary that protects personal data. Exploitation requires physical possession of a device already placed in Maintenance Mode; the published impact is limited to disclosure of the stored Wi-Fi password.
