CVE-2024-3467

Local code execution via crafted XML import

Published Jun 12, 2024 · Updated Aug 1, 2024

Insecure deserialization in AVEVA PI Asset Framework Client 2023 and 2018 SP3 P04 and earlier allows attackers to execute code locally. PI System Explorer's XML import insecurely deserializes attacker-supplied content; AVEVA does not disclose the specific parser operation. Exploitation requires an interactive user to import the crafted file, and code runs with that user's privileges.
