CVE-2024-34669Network attack vector

System-privilege code execution via H.263+ parser overflow

Published Oct 8, 2024 · Updated Nov 1, 2024

Out-of-bounds write in librtppayload.so on Samsung Mobile Devices with Android 12 through 14 allows remote attackers to execute system-privilege code. The H.263+ parser fails to validate malformed media input before writing parsed payload data beyond its destination buffer. Triggering requires user interaction with attacker-supplied H.263+ content, after which system-privilege execution can compromise device data and operation.
