System code execution via H.263 parser overwrite
Published Oct 8, 2024 · Updated Oct 8, 2024
Out-of-bounds write in librtppayload.so on Samsung Mobile Devices before SMR Oct-2024 Release 1 allows remote attackers to run system code. The H.263 payload parser fails to validate crafted media data before writing beyond its destination buffer. A user must interact with attacker-controlled content to trigger memory corruption, after which code runs with system privilege.
