CVE-2024-34665Network attack vector

System-privilege code execution via H.264 out-of-bounds write

Published Oct 8, 2024 · Updated Oct 8, 2024

Out-of-bounds write in Samsung Mobile Devices before SMR Oct-2024 Release 1 allows remote attackers to execute code with system privilege. The proprietary librtppayload.so H.264 parser inadequately validates input and writes beyond a buffer while parsing crafted content. Exploitation requires user interaction with attacker-controlled H.264 content; successful memory corruption permits system-privilege code execution.
