Improper input validation in Samsung ThemeCenter before SMR Sep-2024 Release 1 allows physical attackers to install privileged applications. ThemeCenter processes installation input without the verification needed to reject an application seeking privileged status; Samsung has not disclosed the affected function or input format. Physical access to a Samsung device running Android 12 or 13 is required, after which the installed application receives elevated privileges.
