Local code execution via connected-information bounds error
Published Aug 7, 2024 · Updated Aug 7, 2024
Out-of-bounds write in Samsung Notes before 4.4.21.62 allows local users to execute arbitrary code with the app’s privileges. While applying connected-information data, the app fails to validate input bounds before writing to memory, allowing data outside the intended buffer. Local low-privileged access is required, and successful exploitation runs code only with Samsung Notes privileges.
