Improper authentication in Samsung SmartThings before 1.8.17 allows remote attackers to bypass owner-set member expiration dates. Samsung has not published the affected code locus or explained how its check logic mishandles a member expiration date. No privileges or user interaction are required, and successful exploitation preserves a member's access beyond the owner's configured cutoff.
