Temporary service interruption via malformed RTCP reports
Published Jul 2, 2024 · Updated Aug 2, 2024
Improper input validation in librtp.so on Samsung Mobile Devices with Android 12 through 14 allows remote attackers to interrupt service. The RTCP Receiver Report parser accepts a malformed packet without proper input validation, causing a temporary denial of service. Triggering the flaw requires user interaction; the documented consequence is temporary service interruption rather than code execution or data access.
