Browser-session script execution via unescaped userid_change
Published May 16, 2024 · Updated Feb 13, 2025
Reflected XSS in Sunhillo SureLine 8.10.1 and earlier allows remote attackers to run script through the Forgot Password feature. The /cgi/usrPasswd.cgi handler copies the userid_change parameter into an HTML tag value without neutralizing browser-active input. An attacker must induce an application user to open a crafted request; the script then runs in that user's SureLine browser session and can read or alter data available there.
