Contributor-level stored XSS via unescaped content attributes
Published May 8, 2024 · Updated Apr 28, 2026
Stored XSS in VanderWijk Consultancy Content Blocks (Custom Post Widget) 3.3.0 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to run scripts. The plugin accepts user-supplied attributes without sufficient input sanitization and renders the stored values without output escaping. Contributor-level access is required, and the script executes when another user opens an injected page, exposing that user's browser session to attacker-controlled code.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
