Script execution via unsanitized anchor attribute
Published May 3, 2024 · Updated Aug 2, 2024
Cross-site scripting in Vditor 3.10.3 allows remote attackers to execute script in a user's browser through a crafted anchor attribute. The report identifies the preview renderer's retention of an executable attribute on a rendered A element as the mechanism; no deeper code-level cause is published. Exploitation requires attacker-controlled content to be rendered with preview.markdown.sanitize disabled; the vendor disputes the issue because sanitization defaults to true.
