CVE-2024-34448Public exploitNetwork attack vector

Spreadsheet formula execution via unescaped member fields

Published May 22, 2024 · Updated Feb 13, 2025

CSV injection in Ghost before 5.82.0 allows remote attackers to place executable formulas in exported member data. The members-csv unparse function passed attacker-controlled registration fields to Papa Parse without enabling formula escaping, so leading formula characters remained active in the generated file. Exploitation requires a staff member to export the member list and open it in spreadsheet software that evaluates formulas, where the payload executes in that user's context.
