Backup deletion via missing cloud-administrator authorization
Published May 3, 2024 · Updated Mar 28, 2025
Improper access control in Veritas NetBackup before 10.4 and Appliance before 5.4 lets remote authenticated users shorten locked backup retention. Recovery Vault fails to enforce cloud-administrator authorization when a NetBackup Administrator changes the expiration of Governance-mode images.
