Stored script execution via crafted quiz names
Published May 3, 2024 · Updated Oct 31, 2024
Stored XSS in Savsoft Quiz 6.0 allows remote attackers to execute script in another user's browser through a crafted quiz name. The insert_quiz endpoint accepts the quiz_name POST value and stores it for later rendering without neutralizing embedded script markup. The published request includes a session cookie but does not establish an authenticated privilege requirement; execution requires another user to open the stored quiz entry.
