Unauthenticated database queries via concatenated login password
Published Apr 8, 2024 · Updated Aug 1, 2024
SQL injection in SourceCodester Prison Management System 1.0 allows remote attackers to query its database through the unauthenticated login form. Account/login.php concatenates the POSTed txtpassword value into a SELECT statement and passes the resulting string to mysqli_query without filtering or a prepared statement. No account is required; the demonstrated time-based payload executes MySQL SLEEP and retrieves the database user, establishing database reads but not operating-system command execution.
