Authenticated code execution via MIME-only avatar validation
Published Apr 7, 2024 · Updated Aug 26, 2024
Unrestricted file upload in SourceCodester Prison Management System 1.0 allows remote authenticated users to execute code via an avatar. The edit-photo.php handler trusts the client-supplied MIME type, retains the supplied filename, and moves the file into the web-served uploadImage directory. A valid management session is required; successful exploitation runs attacker-supplied PHP under the web server account.
