Authenticated browser script execution via unencoded file properties
Published May 14, 2024 · Updated Aug 2, 2024
Cross-site scripting in TYPO3 CMS allows remote authenticated users to execute script in another user's browser via crafted file metadata. ShowImageController inserts title, width, and height properties from file entities into tx_cms_showpic HTML marker replacements without HTML encoding. A valid backend account with file-entity access and a victim viewing the generated image output are required, exposing site data and actions available to that victim.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
