Authentication bypass via unvalidated server-session JWT
Published May 9, 2024 · Updated Aug 2, 2024
Authentication bypass in CMSaasStarter before commit 7904d416d2c72ec75f42fbf51e9e64fa74062ee6 allows remote attackers to forge server sessions. The server hook's getSession helper trusts session data returned by supabase.auth.getSession without calling getUser to validate the JWT. No credentials or user interaction are required; a forged token grants access to data and actions exposed by routes that trust the session.
