Root command execution via traceroute destination injection
Published May 9, 2024 · Updated Feb 13, 2025
Command injection in Tenda O3V2 firmware 1.0.0.10 and 1.0.0.12 allows remote authenticated users to execute root commands. The /goform/getTraceroute handler accepts crafted dest input that alters the traceroute command, producing blind command execution. Administrative authentication is required; injected commands run as root and can read or alter data or interrupt the appliance.
