Stored script execution via unsanitized contact messages
Published May 8, 2024 · Updated Aug 2, 2024
Stored cross-site scripting in JiZhiCMS 2.5.1 allows remote attackers to execute script in an administrator's browser via a contact message. The public contact form stores an unneutralized image error-handler payload, and the admin message reply view renders it as active markup. Submission requires no authentication, but execution requires an administrator to open the stored message and select Reply, exposing that browser session to script-driven data access or actions.
