Stored script execution via unsanitized course descriptions
Published May 17, 2024 · Updated Feb 13, 2025
Stored cross-site scripting in Rocket Soft Rocket LMS 1.9 allows remote authenticated users to execute JavaScript in course viewers' browsers. The course form stores a modified description POST parameter without server-side neutralization after the WYSIWYG editor's client-side filtering. Administrator access is required to plant the payload, and a viewer must open the affected course or notification before code runs in that browser's origin.
