Stored script execution via system name fields
Published May 13, 2024 · Updated Feb 13, 2025
Stored XSS in SourceCodester Computer Laboratory Management System allows remote attackers to execute script via name or shortname values. The system-information form saves these fields without neutralizing embedded HTML or script and later renders the stored value in a browser. The public proof of concept uses the administrative update form and requires a user to view the saved value, enabling code execution with that user's browser-session access.
