Stored XSS via unsanitized user names
Published May 13, 2024 · Updated Feb 13, 2025
Stored XSS in SourceCodester Computer Laboratory Management System 1.0 allows remote authenticated users to execute script in a victim's browser. The user-save handler at /php-lms/classes/Users.php?f=save stores firstname, middlename, and lastname values without neutralizing embedded HTML or script before later rendering them. A low-privileged account must save the payload and another user must view the affected record, causing the script to run within that viewer's application session.
