Device crash via unchecked MAC-filter parameter copies
Published May 9, 2024 · Updated Feb 13, 2025
Stack buffer overflow in TOTOLINK CP450 4.1.0cu.747_B20191224 allows remote attackers to crash the device via a crafted request. The setMacFilterRules handler copies the unchecked comment and schEnable parameters into stack buffers with strcpy. The request must reach the device management CGI, and CISA's assessment requires user interaction; the demonstrated consequence is a service crash rather than data access or modification.
