Stack corruption via unchecked http_host copy
Published May 9, 2024 · Updated Feb 13, 2025
Stack-based buffer overflow in getSaveConfig in TOTOLINK CP450 4.1.0cu.747_B20191224 allows remote attackers to corrupt stack memory. getSaveConfig accepts the http_host POST value into Var without checking its length, then strcpy copies it into a fixed-size stack destination. The public request targets /cgi-bin/cstecgi.cgi?action=save&setting and includes a SESSION_ID cookie, leaving the authentication gate unresolved.
