CVE-2024-34198Public exploitNetwork attack vector

Command execution via unchecked SSID copy

Published Aug 28, 2024 · Updated Aug 29, 2024

Stack buffer overflow in TOTOLINK A3002RU Firmware 2.1.1-B20230720.1011 allows remote authenticated users to execute commands via HTTP. The boa formWlEncrypt handler passes the unbounded wlan_ssid value to strcpy, which copies it into a 44-byte stack buffer and overwrites control data. The published exploit first authenticates to the web management interface as an administrator; a malformed payload can instead interrupt the boa service.
