CVE-2024-34196Public exploit

Command execution via unchecked WLAN SSID copy

Published May 8, 2024 · Updated Feb 13, 2025

Stack buffer overflow in TOTOLINK A3002RU firmware 3.0.0-B20230809.1615 allows remote authenticated users to execute commands. The boa formWlEncrypt path copies an oversized wlan_ssid value into a 36-byte stack buffer with strcpy and no backend length check. An authenticated session on the same local network must first raise vwlan_idx to at least 5; malformed control data can execute commands or crash boa.
