Database data compromise via interpolated id parameter
Published Apr 7, 2024 · Updated Aug 1, 2024
SQL injection in SourceCodester Online Courseware 1.0 allows remote authenticated users to read or modify database data through id. The admin/edit.php handler reads id from the GET request and interpolates it inside a quoted SELECT statement without parameter binding or escaping. A valid login is required; crafted values can alter the query used to retrieve student records, enabling unauthorized database reads or writes.
