Stored XSS via unneutralized branch name
Published Apr 6, 2024 · Updated Aug 1, 2024
Stored XSS in SourceCodester Human Resource Information System 1.0 allows remote authenticated users to inject browser scripts. The addbranches_process.php handler stores the branches_name POST value without neutralizing HTML or JavaScript before later rendering it. An authenticated branch-creation request and subsequent viewing of the stored entry are required; demonstrated impact is attacker-supplied script execution in the viewer's browser.
