CVE-2024-34113

Password recovery via 32-bit CFMX_COMPAT keys

Published Jun 13, 2024 · Updated Sep 16, 2024

Weak password cryptography in Adobe ColdFusion 2023 Update 7 and earlier and 2021 Update 13 and earlier allows local users to bypass security. Seven encryption and random functions default to CFMX_COMPAT, whose password-derived seed produces only a 32-bit encryption key. Local access is required; recovered or guessed passwords expose protected resources, while integrity and service availability are unaffected.
