CVE-2024-34088Network attack vector

OSPF daemon crash via unchecked NULL edge

Published Apr 30, 2024 · Updated Nov 20, 2024

NULL pointer dereference in FRRouting through 9.1 allows remote attackers to crash the OSPF daemon via crafted OSPF data. The ospf_te.c get_edge function can return NULL for invalid link IDs or advertising-router addresses, and its callers dereference the result without checking it. Reachability requires delivery of OSPF topology advertisements to ospfd, and successful exploitation interrupts that routing daemon without reported data disclosure or modification.
