Unauthenticated code execution via forged sessions and filters
Published Jun 6, 2024 · Updated Nov 3, 2024
Code injection in Man Group D-Tale before 3.13.1 allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary code through crafted custom filters. The Flask app signs sessions with a fixed SECRET_KEY, while the update-settings endpoint accepts a request that enables custom filters and exposes pandas query evaluation. A network-reachable instance is sufficient; authentication does not protect affected deployments because attackers can forge session cookies.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
