Authentication bypass in MantisBT before 2.26.2 allows remote attackers to take over user accounts through password-reset requests. account_update.php accepted a supplied verify_user_id and established the target user's session without validating the confirmation hash issued by verify.php. The victim must have a pending registration or password-reset request whose five-minute verification token remains valid; takeover grants the compromised account's data access and privileges.
