Host file read and write via mutable paths
Published May 3, 2024 · Updated Aug 2, 2024
Improper file access in Pterodactyl Wings before 1.11.12 allows remote authenticated users to read or write arbitrary host files. The node configuration update path decoded remote JSON into protected filesystem directory fields, redirecting daemon file operations outside managed directories. Exploitation requires a leaked node token and a configuration update accepted by Wings, exposing or overwriting files reachable by the daemon account.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
