CVE-2024-34062Public exploit

Local code execution via CLI argument eval

Published May 3, 2024 · Updated Feb 13, 2025

Code injection in tqdm 4.4.0 through 4.66.2 allows local users to execute Python code through crafted non-boolean CLI arguments. The cast function in tqdm/cli.py concatenates an option value into an eval expression instead of parsing the declared type safely. Exploitation is local and requires the crafted option to be invoked; injected code runs with the privileges of the tqdm process.
