Script execution via unescaped notification URL error
Published May 2, 2024 · Updated Aug 2, 2024
Reflected XSS in changedetection.io before 0.45.22 allows remote attackers to execute JavaScript through notification_urls. The /settings form places an invalid notification URL in a validation error rendered from .jinja templates, whose filenames prevent Jinja2 autoescaping. Exploitation requires user interaction with crafted POST data; the script runs in that user's browser and can modify displayed content.
