RAN-function data modification via unchecked service-update arrays
Published Apr 29, 2024 · Updated Nov 6, 2024
Improper input validation in O-RAN RIC e2mgr allows remote authenticated users to modify RAN-function data via service updates. RicServiceUpdateHandler accepts RAN-function add, modify, and delete arrays without enforcing maximum list sizes before iterating over their entries and updating the node record. Low-privilege network access is required, and the published impact is limited to data modification rather than disclosure or service interruption.
