Resource exhaustion in O-RAN Software Community Near Realtime RIC allows attackers to block gNB connections via an xApp flood. The sim-e2-interface and e2sim/gNB subscription path accepts a high volume of xApp requests until resources needed for connection establishment are exhausted. Exploitation requires access through an xApp and numerous requests; the bounded consequence is denial of a gNB's initial connection to the Near RT-RIC.
