CVE-2024-34034

Service crash via subscription-request assertion

Published Feb 25, 2025 · Updated Feb 25, 2025

Reachable assertion in FlexRIC 2.0.0 allows context-dependent attackers to crash the Near-RT RIC with E42 Subscription Requests. The Near-RT RIC subscription-request handler reaches an assertion after a high request volume; public references do not identify the function, condition, or failed invariant. Exploitation requires sustained access sufficient to send many E42 Subscription Requests, and the bounded consequence is termination of the Near-RT RIC service.
