CVE-2024-34002Network attack vector

Authenticated file inclusion via modified feedback backup

Published May 31, 2024 · Updated Oct 31, 2024

Local file inclusion in Moodle LMS 4.0 through 4.3.3 allows remote authenticated users to include server files via feedback restore. The feedback restore path accepts a modified mod_feedback backup that resolves to content outside Moodle's webroot; the affected function is undisclosed. Exploitation requires restore permission, direct web-server access beyond the webroot, and a shared host misconfigured to expose another user's content, limiting the impact to unauthorized file disclosure.
